The Egyptian Priests, more than 4000 years ago, managed to prepare "Sacred Perfumes" of which the Glorious "KYPH/" was the most renowned. Kyphi was not only a perfume but also a powerful arsenal of healthy substances that are the building blocks of health support. This has led the Greeks to engage in great trades with Egypt buying large amounts of Kyphi. These concoctions were prepared as a
Religious Ritual. They were manufactured as solid incense, or fat cones or liquid oils for different ways of application. They were burned in the Temples of Egypt as a fragrant offering to the Gods. Their pleasures were enjoyed by the Royalty and Nobility and, to some extent, the public.
According to Greek historians, (Herodotus, Pliny, Democritus ... ) the Egyptians were using their secret herbal fragrant smoke to induce sleep, allay anxieties and brighten the dreams of the house dwellers. According to the Egyptian Religion, Isis, the Egyptian Goddess, reassembled the
body of her husband, Osiris, after it had been torn into fourteen parts and scattered throughout the regions of Egypt. She gave Osiris immortality by anointing his body with precious oils. This was the origination of the Egyptian rites of Embalming. The Egyptians had an extensive knowledge of the properties of aromatic gums and resinous substances. They played an important part in their lives. The women bathed in perfumed water and the men used the scented unguents for their bodies. During festivals, incense was burnt in the streets, so that even the poorest participated and enjoyed healthy and uplifting perfumed air.
